Solid Waste
Engagement Committee

The Fundy Regional Service Commission operates Crane Mountain Landfill within a culture of continuous improvement, providing sustainable, best-in-class solid waste services for the region.

The Solid Waste Engagement Committee brings an additional perspective to the decision-making process for future solid waste programs, facilitating open communication and meaningful participation that reflects the interests of the Fundy region's population.

GOALS

  • Evaluate proposed solutions to problems and gaps identified within the solid waste action plan in order to develop recommendations to the FRSC Board on future solid waste services.

  • Work with staff to evaluate the problems and gaps to be focused on for continuous improvement as part of the 5-year focus of the solid waste action plan.

  • Participate in a rolling evaluation of committee project performance to populate the FRSC Annual Report.

  • Participate in familiarization sessions due to the complex nature of the solid waste industry and Crane Mountain.

  • Be willing to report to the Board upon request to support recommendations of the Committee.
